Position Summary
Jules Oilfield Services Ltd. is seeking a qualified and safety-focused Texas Bed Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Operations Manager/Dispatcher, the Texas Bed Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation, loading, unloading, and relocation of oilfield equipment and materials throughout Alberta and surrounding regions.
The successful candidate will operate a Texas Bed Truck and related equipment in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and all applicable federal, provincial, and industry regulations. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, equipment care, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operate a Texas Bed Truck and associated equipment.
- Transport rig buildings, tanks, matting, pipe, drilling and production equipment, and other oilfield materials.
- Plan trips, determine routes, and obtain necessary permits and documentation.
- Complete pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and required documentation.
- Perform daily vehicle and equipment checks, including fluid levels and general maintenance inspections.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport equipment in accordance with company standards and transportation regulations.
- Operate winches, tie-downs, chains, binders, and other load-securement devices safely and effectively.
- Communicate regularly with dispatch, customers, supervisors, and other drivers regarding schedules, routes, and job requirements.
- Identify and report hazards, incidents, equipment deficiencies, and maintenance needs.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured to prevent movement during transport.
- Assist with rigging, spotting, and positioning equipment on customer locations.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, inspection reports, fuel records, load tickets, and other required paperwork.
- Keep assigned equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Follow all company safety policies, customer site requirements, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and ongoing competency development.
- Work effectively with swampers, operators, lease personnel, and customer representatives.
- Perform minor roadside repairs and tire chain-ups when required.
- Represent Jules Oilfield Services Ltd. professionally at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Minimum 2 years of oilfield trucking experience.
- Minimum 2 years of Texas Bed and/or winch truck experience preferred.
- Valid safety certifications including:
- H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid/CPR
- WHMIS
- TDG
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of oilfield transportation and load securement practices.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, legal land descriptions (LSD), permits, and work instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

- Experience working on drilling, completion, and production sites.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed both inside the truck cab and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Exposure to:

- Petroleum products and industrial chemicals
- Frequent climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, and securing loads.
- Weekend work, overtime, on-call shifts, travel, and camp work may be required.
