Summary of the Role
This position will be responsible for supporting Valve Modifications and Actuation Center (VMAC) operations by performing valve testing, DRT and modifications as well as picking products from the warehouse and performing some Quality Control duties. Quality Control duties include incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality inspections to meet customer specifications, applicable industry standards, and CNC quality requirements prior to shipment.
Responsibilities
· Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
· Ability to independently perform functional testing of flanged end valves (shell and seat test) in strict accordance with API598, API6D, CSA Z245.17 and ASME B16.34
· Ability to independently and safely complete full DRT process relating to internal coating, seat changes (DIB1 to DIB2 conversions), root cause failure analysis and random quality control testing
· Ability to independently and safely operate a drill press for threaded end valve conversions
· Perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections of valves, actuators, and project orders to verify compliance with customer specifications, applicable industry standards, and CNC quality requirements
· Review quality documentation, including MTRs, pressure test reports, NDE reports, and other required project documentation prior to product release
· Document inspection results and initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs) when required
· Possess high attention to detail capabilities in all facets of the role including paperwork
· Contribute to a fast paced, positive, team focused environment
· Contribute to the development and implementation of work instructions and quality control processes
· Work closely with Engineering department as required
· Fill and complete customer orders in containers and shipping boxes
· Perform quality checks to identify and replace damaged materials
· Picks product in warehouse and prepares items for delivery or shipping
· Label or mark containers with identifying information
· Pull inventory from racks either manually or using automated equipment
· Weigh individual packages prior to delivery to ensure they meet weight specifications
· Mounts and/or installs gears, handles, tags or any other needs for the order.
· Operates Forklift and Order picker equipment and ensures safety regulations are followed
· Maintain accurate records and complete all required paperwork with a high level of attention to detail
Skills and Abilities
· Ability to interact with customers and team-members in a professional and positive manner
· Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities and adapt to changing roles daily
· Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, internet and email
· Forklift certification a plus
· Hands-on, can-do attitude
· Strong mechanical aptitude
· Excellent visual inspection skills with exceptional attention to detail
· Strong organizational and documentation skills
· Able to repeatedly lift 20-80lbs
· Be on their feet for 8-10 hours a day and flexibility to work overtime as needed
Qualifications
· 3-5 years of experience in a Valve Tech role is an Asset
· High school diploma or GED required
