What this job involves:
JLL is hiring a Maintenance Operator to join the Property Management team in Calgary. The operations team manages a portfolio of buildings downtown Calgary and in other locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle is required to commute around portfolio as needed.
Once trained and ABSA certified, the Maintenance Operator will participate in the on-call rotation (once every 5 weeks). This is a great opportunity to join an established team and learn from the best.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Monitor service request application and respond to service calls and complaints in a timely manner to maintain performance standards.
- Change lights, tubes, and lenses as well as clean light fixtures.
- Provide assistance as directed to other building operations staff in the areas of preventative maintenance, electrical maintenance, etc.
- Provide maintenance services in the area of plumbing, i.e. fixtures, taps, washers, flush valves, etc.
- Provide handyman services in the area of general repairs such as flooring, touch-up painting, locks and hardware, ceiling tiles, etc.
- Perform routine inspection and maintain records on HVAC equipment.
- Perform water treatment testing and analysis, adjust and modify chemical feed to ensure proper levels are being maintained.
- Act as relief for other similar positions whose incumbent may be absent from time-to-time.
- Complete custodial housekeeping tasks in the mechanical/electrical areas
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to unexpected emergency call-back if problems occur from time to time.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned from time-to-time
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in building maintenance
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn state-of-the-art Building Automation Systems in order to be trained for the next level.
- Class 5 diver’s license required and reliable vehicle
- Basic Interpersonal skills demonstrating professionalism and commitment to service excellence
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to comprehend an issue and resolve it and complete logs.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekend as needed and participate in on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications:
- ABSA 5th Class Power Engineering license (ability to obtain shortly after starting)
