Overview
The Childcare Resource and Referral (CCRR) - Resource Educator plays a vital role in supporting early childhood education by providing resources, guidance, and training to families, childcare providers, and community partners. This position involves fostering inclusive environments, promoting best practices in childcare, and enhancing the quality of early childhood programs. The ideal candidate is passionate about child development, bilingual in English and French, and experienced in working with children and individuals with disabilities. Duties
- Provide comprehensive resources and information to families seeking childcare options and support services.
- Assist childcare providers with program development, compliance, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops on topics such as special education, inclusive practices, and child development.
- Support bilingual communication needs by offering services in both English and French to diverse populations.
- Collaborate with community organizations to promote awareness of childcare resources and early childhood initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, training sessions, and resource distribution using computer systems.
- Develop educational materials, newsletters, and reports that enhance community understanding of childcare services.
- Work with children directly during classroom visits or outreach activities to observe developmental needs and provide guidance.
- Manage time effectively to balance multiple responsibilities while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring new staff or interns and contributing to team goals for program improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; classroom experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, special education needs, and inclusive practices.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable; excellent communication skills are essential.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or diverse learning needs is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong writing skills for creating reports, educational materials, and correspondence.
- Proficiency in computer operation, including Microsoft Office Suite or similar software for record keeping and communication.
