Our client is a well-established and growing property restoration organization seeking an experienced Senior Restoration Estimator to play a critical role in supporting restoration operations, improving estimate turnaround times, and maximizing project profitability.
This is an opportunity to become a trusted technical expert within the business - working closely with Project Managers, Operations, and insurance partners to ensure restoration projects move efficiently from estimate to approval.
About the Opportunity
This is far more than a traditional estimating position.
You'll be responsible for preparing accurate, insurer-aligned restoration estimates while managing estimate revisions, responding to insurance reviewers, and ensuring project scopes remain both technically sound and financially viable.
Your expertise will allow Project Managers to focus on delivering exceptional customer service and managing projects in the field, while you provide the estimating leadership that keeps projects moving forward.

What You'll Be Responsible For
Prepare High-Quality Restoration Estimates
- Prepare detailed residential and commercial property restoration estimates using Xactimate.
- Develop accurate scopes of work that align with insurance carrier requirements and industry best practices.
- Ensure estimates reflect logical construction sequencing and restoration methodology.
- Maintain exceptional accuracy, consistency, and documentation across every file.
- Balance estimating accuracy with cost awareness to support profitable project delivery.
Manage Insurance Reviews & Estimate Revisions
- Review, revise, and defend estimates with insurance reviewers.
- Respond to estimate revisions, proof-of-scope requests, and insurer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with insurance partners while confidently supporting estimate accuracy, scope, and pricing.
- Help improve turnaround times and reduce project delays through efficient estimate management.
Support Project Teams
- Partner closely with Project Managers by taking ownership of estimate revisions and documentation, allowing them to remain focused on customer service and project execution.
- Provide estimating expertise and technical guidance throughout the restoration process.
- Assist with problem-solving on complex claims and estimate challenges.
- Support operational efficiency through strong organization, communication, and responsiveness.
Contribute to Operational Excellence
- Build strong working relationships across Operations, Project Management, insurance partners, and subcontractors.
- Help improve estimating processes and promote consistency across projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational performance.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience estimating insurance restoration projects.
- Strong proficiency with Xactimate (XactAnalysis experience is an asset).
- Extensive experience preparing and defending insurance restoration estimates.
- Strong understanding of insurance claims processes and carrier estimating practices.
- Excellent knowledge of residential construction methods, restoration sequencing, and building systems.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, structural components, and general construction.
- Ability to confidently communicate with insurance reviewers and explain estimate scope and pricing.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple revisions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of project costs, margins, and profitability.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Nice to Have
- Commercial restoration estimating experience.
- Experience preparing tenders or commercial bid submissions.
- Blueprint reading and architectural drawing interpretation.
- Experience obtaining subcontractor pricing and trade quotations.
