Leamington Food Outlet is a family-run retail and wholesale frozen food business established in 1987. We carry a wide selection of high-quality frozen foods and supply both retail customers and foodservice customers throughout Windsor-Essex.
We are looking for a dependable, friendly, and hardworking Retail Associate to join our team. This is a hands-on role that supports both our retail store and warehouse. The right person will be comfortable helping customers, stocking shelves, keeping our retail freezers looking full and organized, and assisting with repacking frozen food products in the warehouse.
This is a good fit for someone who enjoys staying busy, helping customers, takes pride in keeping things neat and well-presented, and is comfortable working in a small business environment where everyone helps where needed.
Responsibilities
- Repack frozen food products in the warehouse for retail display
- Accurately weigh, label, and organize repacked products
- Stock shelves and retail freezers throughout the day
- Make sure products are displayed neatly and attractively in the freezers
- Rotate product using FIFO, first in, first out
- Assist customers with questions about products
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service
- Help customers with carryouts when needed
- Serve as backup cashier during breaks, busy periods, or staff absences
- Operate the POS system and handle transactions accurately when covering cash
- Answer the phone and direct customer questions as needed
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the retail store, warehouse, cooler, and freezer areas
- Follow proper food safety and handling procedures
Requirements
- Friendly, dependable, and punctual
- Comfortable providing customer service
- Able to work in freezer and cooler environments
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Comfortable with physical work, including stocking, packing, and carryouts
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior retail, cashier, grocery, warehouse, or food handling experience is an asset, but not required
- Available to work Tuesday to Saturday
Schedule
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Regular schedule is Tuesday to Saturday.
Typical hours are between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM, with Saturday hours typically 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
