Joining our expanding full time/year round team at Canada's largest cut your own Christmas Tree Farm. The job is incredibly varied. Activities include: property maintenance of a beautiful 175 acre tree farm, servicing our farm equipment, days outside working with the trees, supervising part time summer staff and Xmas season staff, chainsaw work, tractor work, general set up and breakdown of our equipment to open for the Christmas season and working with customers when we are open. No farm equipment experience is necessary, but some mechanical experience would be VERY helpful. If you are an AWESOME worker on a landscape crew or an arborist who wants more job variation then this is the job for you. Some days will be tiring and physical working in the heat of the summer or in the cold of winter. This is not an inside job except in winter doing equipment maintenance. There will be some forestry work in the winter. The job is extremely varied and the type of work changes weekly which our current team loves about the job. Lots of mower and small tractor work. This can be a LONG TERM career with GROWTH opportunities for the right fit! While this is a Monday to Friday job most of the year, we are open to the public on weekends from mid November to mid December and the ability to work those weekends is required. Most of our team has been with us 5 to 10 years. Great work atmosphere. Merry Farms, in rural Hamilton, is open to the public for cut your own Christmas Trees. Qualifications
- Proficiency in landscape maintenance and outdoors work
- Experience with power tools, chainsaws, mowers ideal
- No prior experience required; willingness to learn A LOT is essential
- Mechanical knowledge with equipment is a huge plus
