Hours Per Week: 35 hours
Pay Range: Payband E – 29.83/hour

The Non-Academic Requirements (NARs) Assistant is responsible for advising and supporting students in their non-academic requirements necessary for participating in field placement/practicum/clinical/preceptorship activities.
Qualifications:
- Two-year Diploma in Office Administration, Health, Human, Social Sciences, or related discipline required
- Minimum two years of experience working within settings such as education, medical, health sciences, human services, office administration or related environment required
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to gather information, analyze, evaluate, formulate, and recommend appropriate course of action
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency with computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office 365: Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and MS Teams
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, information and time management skills
- Experience supporting and guiding students is an asset
- In-person, on campus position. Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to North Bay, ON required
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate student placement clearance by establishing and communicating clearance deadlines by program
- Communicate clearance process to new and returning students and deliver presentations on process and requirements
- Consult internal/external partners on clearance requirements and deadlines to ensure optimal process
- Liaise with third-party electronic placement clearance platform personnel to ensure program requirements are up-to-date and system is functioning optimally for students
- Verify clearance statuses for students after deadlines
- Troubleshoot issues raised by students pertaining to third-party electronic placement clearance platform and/or elevate to appropriate partner as required
- Support students through requests for exemption on placement clearance requirements
- Record clearance statuses in database for internal tracking and information
- Maintain database of Agreements with placement agencies
- Initiate new renewal Agreements
- Facilitate the review and sign-off of Agreements by internal and external partners
- Ensure Certificate of Insurance is on file and request new Certificates as required
- Record and track Agreements and Certificates of Insurance statuses
- Manage and conduct retention and archiving activities of current and expired Agreements and expired Agreements and Certificates
- Other duties as assigned
