BASIC FUNCTION:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for unboxing, assembly, inspection and minor product adjustments. This associate will receive ship and store products and may at times assist with delivery of product to customer residences as a Warehouse Associate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and unbox the product to La-Z-Boy specifications
- Wrapping fragile merchandise from the showroom for customers
- Assist in the loading and unloading of furniture and accessories on and off trucks which includes operating power equipment on occasion
- Occasionally move up to 350 pounds on a two-wheel dolly
- Review product against paperwork to check for order completeness and accuracy
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse
- Receive all incoming products by opening and reviewing contents for quantity and condition
- Understand internal control procedures for the process of receiving product against purchase orders and packing slips and actions to reconcile
- Ensure that all product to be sent back to vendor is properly packaged and all corresponding paperwork is attached
- Assist with furniture repairs and refinishes, including case goods, upholstery, and some leather furniture products. Location of repairs may include warehouse, customer home or store showroom
- Comply with all safety regulations established by the company
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Any combination of training and experience, which is equivalent to graduation from high school
- Any experience in delivery, warehousing, receiving, issuing, packing, shipping and/or storage of goods preferred but not required
- Knowledge in furniture repairs including upholstering fabric, leather and mechanism repair considered an asset
- An understanding of the proper methods and procedures used in safe receiving, storing, requisitions, shipping and delivery. Basic knowledge of inventory procedures
- Self-management to demonstrate self-control and the ability to manage time and priorities
- Must be able and willing to work collaboratively and effectively with the team
- Goal orientation: energetically focuses efforts on meeting a goal, mission or objective
