Job Summary
Construction Site Safety Officer with Carpenter and Labour experience
We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Construction Site Safety Officer with carpentry and site labour experience to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain a safe work environment by monitoring site activities, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective actions.
- Perform regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and provide guidance on safe tool and equipment operation.
- Conduct safety orientations, safety meetings and subcontractor coordination
- Ensure workers follow OH&S regulations
- Assist with carpentry and general construction duties as needed
- Complete safety documentation and incident reporting
- Additional safety training considered an asset, including WHMIS, Fall Protection, and related certifications.
- Promoting a culture of job site safety, where safety is a shared responsibility
- Preparing site safety plans, conducting hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments, as required
- Ensuring all accidents, incidents and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Level 2 First Aid certification
- Carpentry/Site labour experience preferred
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required
- Valid CSO designation - Preferred
- Knowledge of construction site safety procedures
- Ability to enforce safety policies and maintain site compliance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and dependable
