Montessori Academy of London (MA) provides something unique in London: high-quality traditional Montessori education that truly puts the needs of the child first. We are currently seeking Elementary Yard Staff members to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year to help oversee play time for students ages 6-14 years. This part-time role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children and are skilled in maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive play environment. Candidates must be mature and professional and have strong communication skills. Hours will be Monday to Friday, 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM (September to June); 2 hours per day. Compensation: $18.25/hr.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Elementary age children during outdoor and indoor recess activities.
- Promote and support peaceful conflict resolution and respectful communication between students.
- Ensure student safety and well-being at all times.
- Proactively manage and de-escalate conflicts or behavioral concerns.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with children, staff, and parents.
- Report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate school supervisor.
- Model and support the values of the Montessori philosophy.
Qualifications
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to take initiative, be proactive, and remain calm under pressure.
- Familiarity with conflict resolution strategies and child-centered approaches to discipline.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Interest in or experience with Montessori education is an asset.
