Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting equipment to produce precise components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machinery, blueprint reading, and quality control processes. The Laser Operator will play a critical part in ensuring efficient production workflows and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines, including CNC laser systems, ensuring accurate cuts according to technical drawings and blueprints.
- Program and troubleshoot laser equipment using CAD, SolidWorks, and CNC programming software such as Fanuc.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laser machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for precise fabrication.
- Utilize hand tools, calipers, and other measuring devices to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Operate related machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and welding equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with warehouse tasks including packaging finished products and organizing materials for production flow.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and mechanical tasks as required.
Experience
- Proven experience operating laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, CNC programming, CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), and blueprint reading.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, machining processes, welding techniques, and quality control standards.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), forklift operation, hand tools, calipers, and basic math skills is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, or similar machinery is a plus.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, machining principles, and warehouse operations is preferred.
