Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the BI Analyst is responsible for supporting data-driven decision-making across our organization. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving data systems, extracting and analyzing information from multiple sources, and developing clear, meaningful reports and dashboards for leadership and operational teams. This role focuses on collecting, maintaining, and analyzing operational, production, and finance related data to support performance tracking, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain, organize, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of multiple business databases and reporting systems
· Extract, clean, and consolidate data from various sources including production systems, safety platforms, HR systems, and operations databases
· Design, develop, and maintain reports to support plant and operation decision-making
· Produce regular and ad-hoc reports related to production performance, safety metrics, finance, quality trends, downtime, and workforce data
· Standardize reporting practice across manufacturing sites to ensure consistency and comparability of data
· Analyze data trends and identify opportunities for operations improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency gains
· Support internal audits, regulatory compliance reporting, and documentation requirements through accurate data reporting
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data collection methods, reporting process, and system integration
· Present data findings, insights, and recommendations in a clear and accessible format to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Apply financial and accounting principles when analyzing operational and business data to ensure accurate and meaningful reporting
· Assist in troubleshooting data discrepancies and implanting corrective action to improve data reliability
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging data insights to support operational excellence
· Ensure confidential and proper handling of sensitive operation, employee, and business data
· Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using business intelligence tools to support real time operational visibility and decision-making
Working Relationships
· Coordinates with Operations / Plant Management to provide production performance reporting, identifying trends, and support efficiency improvements across manufacturing sites
· Coordinates with Finance to align operational data with cost, productivity, and budgeting metrics
· Works with external auditors or regulatory bodies by preparing accurate and traceable data for compliance and audit requirements
· Site leadership teams – to ensure consistent reporting standards and provide insight for strategic decision making
· Liaise with external IT and/or software providers
· Works with the Continuous Improvement Committee as required
Environmental Conditions
· 40 hours/week, with occasional extended hours for specific initiatives if required
· Office environment, with frequent shop floor presence
Qualifications
· Post-secondary education in Data Analytics, Business, IT, Statistics, or related fields
· Experience working with data, reporting, or business intelligence tools
· 2-3 years’ experience of financial management concepts and the ability to present data in a structure consistent with standard financial reporting practices
· Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning).
· Ability to analyze data and present findings in a clear, understandable way
· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
· Experience working with multiple data sources or systems
