Landscape Maintenance Crew Member
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Crew Member to join our team at Van Oordt Landscaping. This full-time, seasonal position involves maintaining commercial properties and handling various ground maintenance tasks. You will work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days with potential for an extension to a winter crew member. Applicant must be available to work from Monday to Friday full-time.
Overview:
We are looking for motivated Crew Members to join us immediatley. In this role, you will assist in maintaining and improving outdoor spaces through tasks like mowing, trimming, edging, and using hand and power tools. This job involves physical labor and requires mechanical knowledge, a love for outdoor work, and attention to detail to maintain high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate commercial line trimmers, push mowers, and gas blowers.
- Use hand tools and power tools to maintain gardens and outdoor areas. Rake, remove weeds, and clear debris.
- Assist in creating and installing landscaping features such as flower beds, pathways, and retaining walls.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Work closely with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Perform various landscaping duties to enhance and maintain outdoor spaces.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license an asset . Must have reliable transportation to our Kitchener location.
- Seasonal position can move into snow removal , with typical working hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until December 15th. Snow removal- on call basis.
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance is a plus but not required.
- Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
- Able to perform physical labor, including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Willingness to learn new landscaping skills and equipment use.
- A passion for gardening and outdoor work is highly desirable.
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
