Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic/Apprentice to join our team to keep our small fleet running safely and on time. Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, front end garbage trucks, tailers, semis
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting purposes
- Conduct inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure equipment safety and compliance
- Operate heavy equipment safely when required for testing or operational purposes
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used
- Support team members with routine maintenance tasks and equipment inspections
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all maintenance activities
Requirements
- Valid clean class 5 license is a must
- Prior heavy equipment experience is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and schematics
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of maintenance procedures for heavy equipment
- Experience operating heavy equipment or industrial machinery is preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $20.25-$43.86 per hour
