MacKenzie Camp (on Mabel Lake, 35 km east of Enderby, BC) seeks a Director for its spring and summer program, June 15-August 21, 2026 (10 weeks). The successful applicant will be dedicated to teamwork and to the development and implementation of programming which enriches the lives of children. Time is a standard 40-hour week. MacKenzie Camp is an outdoor ministry of the United Church of Canada.
June 15-29- Rental and School Program: facilitation (with support from F/A and Head Cook) of outdoor education activities requested by elementary schools (1 overnight, 1 day camp). They are accompanied by their directors, teachers, and adult volunteers. Programming is scheduled to permit the director to spend three hours daily on other camp duties, including planning for the Summer Camp Program.
June 29-August 21- Summer Camp Program: leadership of 10 counsellors in the delivery of programming (swimming, wide games, faith formation, archery, bouldering, crafts, orienteering, etc.) to nine overnight camps for children and youth aged 7-17. Qualifications:
- Suggested age is 25 years or older in accordance with BCCA Standards.
- Must have completed two or more years of university or university college.
- Must have at least two years experience working with people 5-19 years of age.
- Must have experience in outdoor education, crafts, games, team building, trust activities, Life skills, group dynamics, and conflict resolution.
- Must have Pleasure Craft Operator’s Certificate (PCOC).
- Must have Intermediate First Aid Certification.
- United Church connection an asset.
- Bronze Cross and NLS an asset.
- Food Safe is an asset.
- Must consent to a criminal records check.
