Echocardiography Technologist – Part-Time (1 Shift per Month)

We are currently seeking an experienced Echocardiography Technologist to join our team at our Oshawa location in Durham Region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technologist looking for occasional work, with one scheduled shift per month.
Role Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform diagnostic echocardiography examinations in accordance with established protocols and professional standards.
- Ensure correct patient identification, safety, preparation, and positioning prior to and during examinations.
- Obtain and document relevant patient medical history and clinical information.
- Explain examination procedures to patients and provide excellent patient care throughout the examination.
- Operate echocardiography equipment effectively and efficiently.
- Acquire high-quality diagnostic images and Doppler measurements for interpretation.
- Ensure all required quality control and quality assurance procedures are completed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all applicable privacy, health and safety, and infection prevention and control requirements.
- Perform appropriate cleaning and sanitary procedures following each examination.
- Ensure equipment and instruments are functioning properly and report any concerns promptly.
- Maintain adequate supplies and ensure the examination area is clean, organized, and appropriately stocked.
- Accurately document examination findings and relevant information within the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Work independently while maintaining effective communication and collaboration with the clinical team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current registration with CMRITO and/or eligibility for registration, as applicable.
- Demonstrated experience performing adult transthoracic echocardiography (TTE).
- Minimum 1 year of related echocardiography experience.
- Strong technical skills and ability to produce high-quality diagnostic studies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound clinical judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development.
