Our expectations
Reporting to the Transportation Final Mile Manager, the Analyst, Transportation plays a key role in supporting and optimizing transportation flows within RONA’s distribution network. Using a variety of analytical tools and data sources, the Analyst provides reporting, insights, and recommendations related to Final Mile delivery models, transportation costs, service performance, and operational efficiency.
The Analyst serves as a technical resource with a strong foundation in supply chain and transportation operations. They continuously develop their expertise to support the evolving complexities of RONA’s Final Mile network and transportation strategies.
Results-oriented and highly analytical, the Analyst is able to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights, providing valuable support to internal stakeholders and operational teams. The role proactively identifies opportunities to improve transportation performance through financial oversight, delivery performance analysis, process optimization, and alignment with broader supply chain objectives.
As an individual contributor, the Analyst is responsible for maintaining regular reporting, supporting operational requests, conducting ad-hoc analyses, and ensuring the integrity and maintenance of key operational parameters and transportation flow rules. The role also participates in business initiatives and cross-functional projects, contributing analytical expertise and operational recommendations within established mandates and deliverables.
The Analyst is a self-motivated and detail-oriented professional committed to continuous learning and improvement. They actively contribute to the development, enhancement, and evolution of tools, reporting, and processes that support effective transportation operations and decision-making.
Your role
Develop and manage carrier performance scorecards measuring including cube utilization, service frequency, Final Mile delivery success metrics, compliance reporting, and cost recovery analysis. Identify opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
Develop, maintain, and enhance analytical tools, transportation flow rules, and reporting solutions that support operational efficiency, speed to market, and strategic decision-making.
Conduct freight payment audits and identify cost recovery and transportation optimization opportunities.
Manage TMS system setup, configuration, and data integrity for Final Mile transportation operations.
Perform analysis on operational issues, anomalies, claims history, and transportation trends to improve process flows, cost efficiency, and customer experience. Recommend and implement corrective actions in collaboration with operational and support teams.
Manage logistical decision-making activities requiring collaboration across multiple business lines and external carrier partners, including reverse logistics initiatives and transportation flow optimization.
Analyze shipping estimates versus actual costs and provide reporting and insights to stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
Document and map key transportation and operational processes, including decision-making workflows and process diagrams.
Act as a subject matter expert and collaborate with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Operations, and external carrier partners to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Produce ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and operational insights for leadership and management teams as required.
Support day-to-day transportation operations and operational tasks as required.
The qualifications we are looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain), Engineering or related field
At least 3 years of progressively responsible role experience in the distribution, logistics or transportation industries is required
Experience in the retail sector, with a large national distributor or a transport/logistics service provider with LTL or Big+ bulky final mile experience
Critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills; Proactive approach and willingness to challenge existing processes and propose new solutions
Sense of organization and rigor; Proven track record of performing tasks efficiently, on time and under pressure, as well as effectively managing priorities in a rapidly changing environment
Demonstrated ability to work with teams at all levels of the organization and across a variety of functions in a complex environment
Communication skills; Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels of the organization and with all business units to persuade and lead others during difficult situations
