We're looking for an experienced, reliable, and passionate Dog Daycare Attendant to join our growing team. If you have previous experience working in a dog daycare or kennel environment, understand canine body language, and enjoy spending your day working with dogs, we'd love to hear from you.
Our 2.5-acre facility offers luxury daycare, overnight boarding, training, photography, and enrichment for dogs. We're committed to providing a safe, fun, and positive environment for every dog in our care while delivering exceptional service to our clients.
What You'll Do
As a Dog Daycare Attendant, you'll play an important role in ensuring every dog has a safe, engaging, and enjoyable experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising and safely managing groups of dogs during daycare and boarding outdoors & indoors.
- Reading and responding appropriately to canine body language and group dynamics
- Providing positive engagement, enrichment, and socialization throughout the day
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment by disinfecting indoor areas and cleaning outdoor play yards
- Picking up animal waste and ensuring all areas remain clean and organized
- Brushing and cleaning dogs as needed before they go home
- Taking high-quality photos of dogs for owners and social media
- Assisting with customer service and communicating with pet parents when required
- Working independently while collaborating effectively with the rest of the team
What We're Looking For
Applicants must have previous experience working in a dog daycare or kennel. At this time, we are not considering applicants without professional dog daycare or kennel experience.
The ideal candidate:
- Has experience working with groups of dogs in a daycare, boarding, or kennel environment
- Has a strong understanding of canine body language and dog behaviour
- Is dependable, punctual, and takes responsibility seriously
- Is compassionate, patient, and genuinely enjoys working with dogs
- Can multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Communicates professionally with coworkers and clients
- Is comfortable following established procedures while taking initiative when appropriate
Physical Requirements
Our facility sits on 2.5 acres, so you'll spend much of your shift outdoors in all seasons.
Applicants should be comfortable:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Working outdoors year-round (including Alberta winters)
- Lifting, bending, and performing physical cleaning duties
Schedule Requirements
- At least one weekend day availability is required
- Some holiday availability is required
- Reliability and attendance are essential, as we care for live animals every day of the year.
