We are a busy Food Production company currently looking for FSQA/HACCP Technician to join our growing team based in Etobicoke Ontario. In this position, the candidate is responsible for ensuring that the projects are completed properly and handles regulatory and labelling tasks as required by the project. Ability to develop and maintain a positive and professional relationship with all employees, customers, and vendors is a key requirement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing and documenting FSQA/HACCP forms, specification sheets, and nutritional facts tables
- Assisting with FSQA/HACCP administration as required such as updating documents, filing and database updates for formulations, supplier specifications, and validation results
- Develop and review of product labels for compliance with government and export requirements
- Submit and manage export permits and import documentation
- Verify declarations of ingredients, allergens, nutrient content claims
- Maintain supplier approval program for products including updated supplier documentation
- Maintain customer portals and vendor submissions
- Gather and prepare information for customer inquiries and requirements
- Verify and compile documents for the commercialization of products
- Prompt and professional management of all incoming calls and emails
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Coordinating meeting room schedule and arranging catering and presentation equipment as needed
- Co-ordinating courier shipments (includes packaging, labeling and follow-up on point of destination).
Qualifications
Work Experience:
- 2 Years’ experience in administrative, coordination or office management positions
- 3–5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs in the food manufacturing or processing industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Nutrition, Chemistry, or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of CFIA, FDA, FSMA, USDA-FSIS, HACCP, GMPs, GFSI standards (SQF/BRC), NFT generation software, and Canadian and U.S. food labeling and packaging regulations
- Hands-on experience with label compliance and NFT creation/maintenance, supplier approval documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
- HACCP Certification (recognized by CFIA or FDA)
- Label Regulation training / Certification
- PCQI Certification (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual)
- SQF or BRC Practitioner Certification
- Excellent Experience in analyzing and developing specifications needed for making compliant labels for US & CA
- Experience in meat/ chicken processing is a must.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Exceptional interpersonal & customer service skills and ability to work cohesively with a team
- Strong computer skills required (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook calendar management)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to work independently
- Ability to take initiative to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
- Ability to exercise discretion and tact in sensitive situations, using good judgment when responding to issues or requests
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills
- Passionate about food French Language is an asset
