Senior Manufacturing & Operations Leader – Flexible Packaging

Tycho Poly Inc. is a growing flexible packaging manufacturer specializing in blown film extrusion and converting operations. We are currently seeking an experienced operations leader to support and oversee both plant and office operations within a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment.
This opportunity is ideal for an individual with a strong background in blown film extrusion manufacturing, operational leadership, production management, and cross-functional coordination. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production performance, workplace culture, operational efficiency, and overall business operations.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, highly organized, operationally strong, and capable of balancing independent decision-making with strong alignment to company leadership and ownership direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and oversee daily plant and office operations across extrusion, converting, shipping, scheduling, and production support functions
- Lead initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, quality improvement, waste reduction, and operational performance
- Coordinate production scheduling and workflow planning to meet customer delivery requirements
- Work closely with Supervisors, Lead Hands, Maintenance, Quality, Shipping, Customer Service, and Management teams
- Monitor KPIs related to production output, downtime, labor utilization, scrap, efficiency, and operational performance
- Participate in daily operational meetings to review production priorities, staffing, scheduling, maintenance needs, quality concerns, and safety matters
- Assist in improving communication and coordination between operations, customer service, production, and management
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, process optimization, and waste reduction
- Assist with troubleshooting extrusion and manufacturing-related issues
- Support quality systems and ensure products consistently meet customer specifications and operational standards
- Promote and maintain strong Health & Safety practices and workplace compliance
- Assist with hiring, training, coaching, employee development, and performance management
- Support inventory planning, raw material coordination, reporting, and operational administration
- Participate in equipment upgrades, process improvements, and capital investment initiatives
- Foster a professional, accountable, and team-oriented workplace culture
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience within blown film extrusion manufacturing environments
- Strong leadership experience within plastics manufacturing or flexible packaging operations
- Experience overseeing manufacturing teams within a 24/7 production environment
- Strong understanding of blown film extrusion processes, materials, troubleshooting, and production flow
- Experience with mono-layer and multilayer film extrusion considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of flexible packaging converting processes including bag making, printing, or lamination considered an asset
- Experience with production scheduling, workflow coordination, and operational planning
- Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs, productivity measurement, and operational performance management
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and process optimization initiatives
- Working knowledge of ERP/MES systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership abilities with the confidence to make operational decisions independently, while also working closely with ownership and effectively executing company direction and priorities
- Ability to lead teams professionally while maintaining accountability, structure, and a positive workplace culture
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, WHMIS, and Ministry of Labour compliance requirements
- Experience with ISO, GMP, HACCP, SQF, or food packaging standards considered an asset
