About the Role
Veterinary Medical Receptionists are the first point of contact for our clients and patients and play a critical role in keeping the hospital running smoothly.
This position primarily works to support urgent care services and busy hospital operations.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist clients with professionalism, empathy, and warmth
- Answer phones, manage appointment scheduling, and respond to client inquiries
- Support urgent care workflows during busy evening periods
- Maintain accurate patient records and administrative documentation
- Coordinate communication between clients, veterinarians, and the medical team
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception environment
- Assist with additional administrative and hospital support tasks as needed
Schedule Requirements
As a 24/7 veterinary hospital, flexibility is essential. Team members must be available and willing to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight-adjacent shifts.
Our reception team supports hospital operations across a range of schedules, with shifts ranging from as early as 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and as late as 3:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., as well as various shifts in between. Successful candidates must be comfortable working a rotating schedule based on operational needs.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment.
- Comfortable working in a hospital that provides urgent care services.
- Proficient with computers and administrative systems.
- A love for animals and passion for client care.
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing hospital needs.
- Must be available and willing to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night shifts as required.
- Prior experience in a veterinary or medical setting is an asset.
