Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints or job specifications to execute all work assigned safely and in accordance with Broadband Maintenance’s health and safety policy.
- Work outdoors in various conditions to place copper or fiber optic telecommunication cables.
- Climb poles, ladders, and a variety of construction equipment to assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatus.
- String cables between structures, manholes, from poles, towers, or trenches and ensure that all are to proper tension.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
- Accurately record and report project progress to the appropriate supervisory person and communicate any issues or expected delays.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role would be an asset.
- High school diploma.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license with clean driving record required to operate company vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to lift 80 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to and exceeding 30 feet.
- Able to complete the necessary training for working at heights and confined space, pass the corresponding examinations and receive a client authorization number.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
