About the Role:
Signal Security of the Okanagan is seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development / Sales Representative to support the continued growth of our security operations throughout the Central & South Okanagan.
This role is responsible for generating new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and promoting Signal Security's services within the commercial, industrial, residential, event, construction, and institutional sectors. The successful candidate will represent the company professionally while building long-term relationships within the community and identifying opportunities for operational growth
The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, comfortable with networking, cold outreach, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities throughout the Central & South Okanagan;
- Conduct cold calls, email outreach, networking, and in-person meetings with prospective clients;
- Generate leads for security guard services, mobile patrols, alarm response, event security, concierge security, and related services;
- Prepare proposals, quotes, presentations, and service agreements for prospective clients;
- Conduct client site visits and security assessments alongside operational leadership when required;
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients to support long-term retention and upselling opportunities;
- Attend networking events, trade shows, community functions, and business association meetings representing Signal Security of the Okanagan;
- Assist management in developing strategic growth plans and sales initiatives;
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client communications using proprietary CRM software.
Client Relations & Customer Service
- Serve as a professional point of contact for prospective and existing clients;
- Respond to client inquiries regarding services, pricing, and operational capabilities;
- Coordinate with operations and scheduling teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new accounts.
- Support client satisfaction initiatives and follow up regarding service quality and operational concerns.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client operations, pricing, and internal company information.
Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales activity reports;
- Track lead generation, conversion metrics, and client engagement activity;
- Assist with contract renewals and proposal updates;
- Follow all Signal Security of the Okanagan policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Education, Experience & Related Requirements
- Previous sales, business development, marketing, or customer service experience required;
- Experience within the security industry, property management, construction, hospitality, or service industries considered an asset;
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills;
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills; candidates may be requested to provide IELTS (or equivalent) results;
- Comfortable with cold calling, public speaking, and client presentations;
- Strong organizational and time management abilities;
- Ability to work independently and meet performance goals;
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Experience with CRM systems considered an asset;
- Professional appearance and deportment required;
- Valid British Columbia Driver's License (Class 4 or Class 5) required;
- Clean driver's abstract required;
- Willingness to complete the Basic Security Training course and obtain BC Security Workers License is mandatory for the chosen candidate.
Working Conditions
This role involves a combination of office work, community networking, client meetings, and travel throughout the Okanagan region. Evening or weekend attendance at events or client meetings may occasionally be required

Compensation: Base salary plus commission structure, dependent on education and experience

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Occasional evenings or weekends as required

Pay: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
