About the role
This role manages AMZ Prep’s network of facilities across Canada and the United States. You will oversee day to day performance across all owned and partner warehouse facilities, build the systems that keep the network running, and improve reliability, cost and speed across warehousing, middle mile and parcel programs. You will not manage staff directly inside partner sites. Your focus is performance, programs and accountability across the network.
This role blends logistics, operations, vendor management, freight sourcing, reporting, and process improvement. You will work closely with Operations, Customer Success, Finance and Sales to keep the entire network aligned and running at a high standard.
What you will do
Facility management
- Oversee performance across all partner warehouses.
- Run weekly check ins and track operational updates.
- Review workflows for prep, DTC, B2B and middle mile.
- Hold partner facilities accountable for speed, accuracy and communication.
- Travel as needed for launches, audits or escalations.
Sourcing and expansion
- Source and vet new partner warehouses when coverage or capacity is needed.
- Evaluate candidates for quality, staffing, capabilities and cost.
- Support onboarding and training for all new facilities.
- Build playbooks so all partners follow consistent standards.
Performance and accountability
- Track OTIF, SLA, throughput and accuracy across all partners.
- Build technology between each site
- Maintain clear scorecards for speed, quality and volume.
- Share weekly performance reports with leadership.
- Host MBR and QBR reviews to outline wins, issues and required improvements.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures and documented workflows.
Margin and profitability
- Review cost per order and cost per unit at each partner warehouse.
- Identify waste, inefficiency and bad workflow design that impacts margin.
- Recommend layout, staffing or process changes that increase throughput.
- Work with Finance on cost control, pricing and vendor performance.
- Shift merchant volume when it improves cost, speed or reliability.
Middle mile and carrier development
- Source and negotiate freight, trucking and consolidation partners.
- Build and improve middle mile lanes for Amazon inbound and DTC delivery.
- Track routing data and look for faster and cheaper options.
- Support dispatching, consolidation and order routing improvements.
Program rollout and training
- Roll out new programs such as parcel, SFP, prep changes or B2B workflows.
- Train partner warehouses on new processes, tools and expectations.
- Maintain and update SOPs for consistency across the network.
- Ensure partners follow safety standards and operational procedures.
Technology and systems
- Work with tech to build dashboards for warehousing, middle mile and parcel.
- Improve visibility and reporting across all partner facilities.
- Support process automation that reduces manual work.
- Ensure partners adopt the required tools and workflow systems.
Cross team alignment
- Work with Operations on network capacity and planning.
- Keep Customer Success updated on partner performance and exceptions.
- Work with Finance on margin tracking and vendor compliance.
- Support Sales with accurate network capabilities, timelines and coverage maps.
- Collaborate with procurement when evaluating new programs or volume shifts.
Role experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years in warehousing, logistics or 3PL environments.
- Hands on experience with pick, pack, receiving, prep or B2B workflows.
- Experience working with or managing multiple warehouse vendors or 3PL partners.
- Strong understanding of workflow design, throughput, and operational planning.
- Comfortable reviewing data sets including OTIF, SLA, accuracy and cost per order.
- Experience with WMS, TMS or ERP reporting.
- Proven ability to improve processes through SOP updates or workflow redesign.
- Background working with trucking, freight, parcel or consolidation partners.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to drive accountability.
- Comfortable traveling to partner warehouses when required.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement or Lean principles is a plus.
