Artron Laboratories Inc. is a Canadian developer and manufacturer of rapid diagnostic tests based on lateral flow immunoassay technology. We develop innovative in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products for global markets, covering infectious diseases, fertility, women's health and other point-of-care testing applications.
We are seeking a highly motivated Lab Scientist to join our Research & Development team. The successful candidate will participate in the development of new rapid diagnostic products from concept through prototype development and optimization.
What You Will Do
As a Lab Scientist, you will be responsible for developing new immunoassay products and improving existing assays. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to transform scientific concepts into robust diagnostic products.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and optimize lateral flow immunoassays for new IVD products.
- Develop and optimize assay reagents, including antibodies, antigens, conjugates and buffer systems.
- Evaluate biological materials and select suitable reagents for product development.
- Design and perform laboratory experiments, analyze data and interpret results.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during product development and identify practical solutions.
- Optimize assay performance, including sensitivity, specificity, reproducibility and stability.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and prepare technical reports.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to support product verification and technology transfer.
- Stay current with scientific advances and emerging technologies relevant to rapid diagnostic testing.
- Support multiple R&D projects while meeting project timelines.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
Education
- Master's degree or PhD in Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or another related Life Science discipline.
Experience
- At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience in immunoassay, IVD or rapid diagnostic product development.
- Experience developing or optimizing immunoassays, preferably lateral flow assays.
- Strong laboratory skills and experience in experimental design and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot scientific and technical problems.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary R&D environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with antibody or antigen screening.
- Experience with protein purification or recombinant proteins.
- Experience with ELISA or other immunoassay techniques.
- Experience in the IVD or medical device industry.
- Mandarin language skills are considered an asset.

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
