Position Summary:
We are looking for a part-time Medical Receptionist to work 2-3 days per week. This would be a 12-month contract, with possibility of extension.
You must be available to work Mondays.
You must be comfortable managing a large volume of incoming calls, booking for multiple physicians and simultaneously assisting patients at check-in. Experience using Telus Practice Solutions (EMR) would be an asset.
Depending on your experience and availability, there may also be an opportunity to work additional hours during our after-hours clinics or pick up additional daytime shifts when staff are off sick or on vacation.

Located in Cambridge, HealthLink Family Practice is a part of the Two Rivers Family Health Team. This is a busy practice, consisting of eight family physicians.

Overview:
The Medical Receptionist acts as the focal point of communication between the patients and the medical team, with confidentiality being the key issue at all times. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for providing a consistently high level of administrative support to the physicians and other clinic staff. In undertaking the role of Medical Receptionist, the employees will be required to initiate their own tasks, have the ability to prioritize work and multi-task in a highly demanding environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a busy multi-line telephone system in a friendly and professional manner
- Assist with clerical/administrative support to patients, families, staff and Physicians
- Manage, schedule and maintain appointment calendars for multiple Physicians
- Independently respond to both verbal and written inquiries (EMR messages, faxes, telephone calls, voice mail, face-to-face, etc.)
- Updates/maintains confidential patient medical records as needed ensures needed information relayed to patient or Physician to further patient care
- Other duties and tasks as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma and successful completion of medical program such as Medical Administration or enrolment in a relevant post-secondary program (e.g., Nursing)
- Excellent understanding and regular use of medical terminology
- Experience with Practice Solutions EMR software an asset
- Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team setting
- Positive attitude, pleasant and professional manner in person and over the phone
- Excellent de-escalation and customer service skills
- Exceptional organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult situations in a calm manner
- Must be able to handle work volume fluctuations; proactive, reliable and flexible
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.08-$25.05 per hour
