About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly organized School Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our Montessori school. The School Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring exceptional program quality, regulatory compliance, staff development, and positive family relationships. Working closely with the Director and Owner, the successful candidate will support educators, uphold Montessori principles, and foster a safe, nurturing, and enriching learning environment for children and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, including staffing and classroom management.
- Lead, mentor, and support educators and support staff while promoting professional growth and teamwork.
- Conduct staff meetings, classroom observations, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with the Director and Owner on staffing, compliance, and operational goals.
- Maintain accurate administrative records and licensing documentation.
- Coordinate school events and encourage creativity and innovation in programming.
Program Quality & Educational Leadership
- Ensure Montessori and How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH) philosophies are consistently implemented throughout the school.
- Support educators in delivering high-quality, child-centered programs.
- Monitor curriculum implementation, documentation, and developmental outcomes.
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects and supports each child's unique learning journey.
Licensing & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and Ministry licensing requirements.
- Prepare for and participate in licensing inspections, Public Health visits, and Fire Department inspections.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that meet or exceed regulatory standards.
- Address compliance concerns promptly and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
Health, Safety & Facility Management
- Ensure compliance with York Region Public Health guidelines, including sanitation, food safety, and illness management procedures.
- Maintain adherence to City of Vaughan Fire Department regulations, including emergency preparedness and fire drills.
- Conduct regular safety and cleanliness inspections.
- Ensure staff receive ongoing training related to health, safety, and emergency procedures.
Family & Community Relations
- Build strong, positive relationships with families through professional and responsive communication.
- Address parent concerns with discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Promote the school's values, Montessori philosophy, and community engagement initiatives.
- Support parent meetings, special events, and school communications.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a licensed child care or educational setting.
- Diploma in Early childhood Education or Infant/Toddler Montessori Certificate (MACTE or AMI)
- Strong knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and Ministry licensing requirements.
- Experience working in a Montessori environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH) and early childhood education best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

Pay: $25.86-$27.00 per hour
