We are looking for reliable and motivated Grass Cutting Laborers to join our team. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping properties neat and presentable and is capable of working efficiently in outdoor environments. This role involves physical work, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial lawn care equipment including push mowers, ride-on mowers, trimmers, blowers, and edgers.
- Perform regular lawn maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing off debris.
- Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance needs or issues.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, including job sites and company vehicles.
- Follow mowing routes and service instructions provided by supervisors.
- Ensure lawns are cut to proper height and trimming is completed around edges, fences, and obstacles.
- Clean up grass clippings and debris after work is completed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Support additional landscaping tasks as needed (mulching, planting, etc.).
Experience & Requirements
- Previous experience in lawn care, landscaping, or grounds maintenance is preferred but not required—we’re happy to train the right person.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day.
- Basic knowledge of lawn care equipment operation and maintenance is an asset.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work well in a team setting.
- A valid G license and reliable transportation to our Ottawa location is required.
- Steel toe boots required
- 40 plus hours per week
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
