Ember Resources has an opportunity for a Contract Field Operator based out of Central Alberta (east of Ponoka) in our Woodriver field. We are seeking an individual with a high level of competence and professionalism to join our team as part of our day-to-day field and plant operations. This position is shift work – nine days on and five days off (winter) / eight days on and six days off (summer). Shifts are 80 hours per cycle, with occasional overtime.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsible for maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient day to day operation/maintenance of well production, compression, oil battery and refrigeration gas plant.

Individuals must be highly self-motivated and have a strong ability to self-manage the daily responsibilities of the role.

Strong communication, leadership qualities, and good interpersonal skills are a requirement.

Must be flexible with holiday coverage, vacation, and on-call with coworkers.

Flexibility to travel to all operational areas within Ember.

Work independently and in a team environment.

Have regular communications with area Mechanics, E/I Trades, Operators and Leadership.

Successful applicants will be required to participate in monthly Safety Meetings.

The candidate will immediately report all hazard ID’s, near misses and incidents.

Successful candidates will be expected to be an active part of Ember’s safety culture, assess risks, wear all required PPE ensuring site safety is #1 priority and all policies/procedures are being followed.

Participate in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) drills and live events.

Operate within Federal, Provincial, and Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental regulations.

Provide creative solutions and effective problem solving of issues that arise i.e., troubleshooting, flagging deficiencies, and recommending changes to current practices.

Develop, review, and revise Operational Procedures.

Willing to train/work in all operating positions within the plant and field.

Ensure all areas are kept clean to meet/exceed company and regulatory standards.

Continue to learn new tasks and openly accept/give feedback.

Demonstrate a willingness to improve levels of competence and training.

Always represent the corporation in a respectful and courteous manner, both internally and externally.

Preference will be given to applicants with strong computer capabilities. Ember utilizes the following software programs (ScadaVantage, Prodview, Marsworx, Verdazo, EmberGO, Fluidlife, CMDS, Complyworks, OpenInvoice, and Detechtion).

Optimizing well production and maximizing run time within the field.
The successful applicant must meet the following:

Preference to be given to those with a minimum of 5 years related oil and gas operating experience with a strong mechanical aptitude.

Must hold the following current safety training certificates (H2S, First Aid).

The ability to work independently.

Excellent organizational skills.

A valid class 5 driver’s license (Drivers abstract required).
