Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and efficiency while supporting the head chef and managing kitchen staff.
Duties
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation personnel, to ensure smooth daily operations
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with high standards of quality and presentation
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety and hygiene standards in compliance with food safety regulations
- Manage food inventory, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop menus and special offerings
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance skills and teamwork
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment
- Serve as a leader during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent customer service
- Support restaurant management in implementing policies and procedures related to food service and hospitality
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
- Experience in restaurant management or team management roles within the hospitality sector
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of the food industry trends, restaurant operations, and customer service excellence
- Previous restaurant experience is highly preferred
- Exceptional communication skills with a focus on teamwork and hospitality
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail
