The Integrated Stabilization Centre (ISC) is a new service that will be delivered in partnership with Edmonton Police Services. The service is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our multidisciplinary team. We are looking for an NP with experience to provide trauma informed stabilization and recovery-oriented care for adults requiring medical withdrawal management and acute psychiatric stabilization. The NP functions within the knowledge and scope of practice of the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta and will provide advanced care to clients brought into the Integrated Stabilization Centre. Duties include prescribing, withdrawal management, initiating opioid agonist therapy, assessing clients with chronic and persistent mental illness/substance use and physical health concerns, providing therapeutic interventions, advocating and supporting clients with psychosocial supports. The NP will coordinate care and collaborate with RN/RPNs, social workers, physicians and other professionals on the team to ensure holistic care. The NP also provides a leadership role within the team to mentor and supervise other staff. The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to learning, self-motivation, self-care, the ability to remain adaptable and flexible in a high-acuity environment. Strong ethical conduct and professionalism are essential, along with effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
