POSITION GOAL:
To manage and maintain all stages of the employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, development, engagement, offboarding), ensuring alignment with PTI strategic goals and Four Pillars. Perform all aspects of policy and procedure development and administration including the development of new policies, as well as, policy updates and redesign.
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct the end-to-end recruitment process for coop students, unionized and salary positions within PTI Transformers
- Determine applicant requirements by collaborating with hiring managers to develop and revise job descriptions, job postings and interview booklet
- Prepare and conduct new hire orientation, onboarding and offboarding processes
- Manage and maintain employee documentation and files to ensure they are in compliance with ISO standards
- Lead performance management processes (touchpoints, performance reviews, levelling up)
- Collaborate to ensure continuous improvement of performance management and employee lifecycle
- Manage the creation and ongoing revision of training plans for coop students, unionized and salary positions
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists for the internal and external recruitment processes, as well as for the onboarding and orientation processes
- Manage and prepare the bi-weekly total business headcount report in collaboration with HR Team
- Update and maintain HR trackers and analytics reporting
- Ensure the adherence to current legislation applicable to the HR function
- Collaborate with the design and implementation of employee engagement programs
- Administer HR related training programs and platforms
- Advise and partner with leadership and supervisors with any employee issues/inquiries and human resources related topics
- Assure HR’s compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards by maintaining and updating KPIs, SOPs, checklists, and HR Documentation
- Undertake research on best practice in HR management research of external markets to recommend revisions to existing policies to ensure PTI Transformers LP policies and procedures remain relevant
- Work in collaboration with the HR Manager, EHS Coordinator, Corporate Quality & Social Responsibility in Regina, HR Manager, as well as the Safety/HR Consultant in Regina on developing corporate policy work for new and existing HR policies and procedures
- Work in collaboration with the Policy Committee to ensure alignment and compliance with policy development for both Winnipeg and Regina locations
- Review corporate policy and procedures to ensure they remain current / viable, meet legislation and revise where required. Ensuring that policies and procedures are not contradictory to any department or company guidelines or objectives. This includes ensuring all policies align with company mission and vision
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- CPHR designation would be an asset
- 3+ years of experience in recruitment, onboarding, training & development and engagement processes
- Sound understanding of the human resources function and applicable legislation
- Experience with ISO Standards would be an asset
- Experience in a unionized environment would be an asset
- Computer proficiency (MS 365 Suite – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with employees on a diverse range of matters
- Organizational and time management skills
- Organizational development and change management
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Ability to solve problems in an analytical and creative manner
- Ability to obtain the following training as required: WHMIS and other safe work training required for this position.
