Job Title: Nurse Practitioner
Location: Toronto Immigration Holding Centre (Onsite, 3 days a week)
Schedule: Tuesday, Friday and Sunday (5pm - 9pm) TOTAL 12 Hours weekly
Reports To: On-site Clinical Manager
PAY- 90$/hour
Position Summary
Bayshore Northern Staffing is in search of a Nurse Practitioner interested in PART TIME work to join a healthcare clinic that provides medical services for all clients of various risk levels. This includes but is not limited to: adult males, adult females, families, pregnant women, 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, minors, persons suffering from a medical condition or disability, addictions, persons with suspected or diagnosed mental illness, and victims of human trafficking.
The Nurse Practitioner will receive, assess, and treat clients in their care when medical attention is required or requested by the client, as well as coordinate the care of clients with local health care providers. The candidate will also possess a valid license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner without restrictions in the province that the work is to be performed and issued by the College of Nurses in that same province.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to):
- Performing medical examinations and completing formal written assessments;
- Documenting medical diagnoses;
- Developing and monitoring individual treatment plans;
- Monitoring of patient health;
- Maintaining and updating medical records;
- Providing advice and instructions to other medical professionals;
- Managing bio-hazardous waste and decontaminating or sanitizing medical equipment;
- Providing disease prevention and health promotion advice;
- Measuring and recording vital signs;
- Administering medications, fluids intravenously and/or other treatments and provide the required monitoring; and
- Performing mental health and psychosocial assessments.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years, working as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care setting with a strong background in treating mental health and addiction issues
- A degree or diploma or certificate in a related field (Mental Health and Addictions, Counselling, Psychology, Social Work) and professional certification from the provincially regulated authority is an asset
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
All candidates will be required to obtain and show proof of:
- A valid RELIABILITY STATUS security clearance (request form and fingerprint form will be provided by Bayshore and full reimbursement)
- A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) (must be within one-year)
- Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification (must be within two-years)
