Concrete Finisher
Work – Industrial Civil (Structural Gradebeams, Pile Caps, & Slabs)
Duration – ~12-week temporary, project-based (July start) — strong potential to go permanent
Locations – Suncor Firebag Facility (Fort McMurray, AB area) — Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) with camp accommodations provided
Compensation – $35–$45/hr, based on experience and competency · Full flights and camp covered
Run the trowel to spec, work to grade, and hold your own on a busy, high-tolerance industrial pour.

What you'll finish
- Place, spread, screed, and finish concrete flatwork to specified industrial tolerances
- Power trowel and hand finish to strict structural standards
- Set and check grade pegs; work accurately to control elevations
- Install control joints and execute post-pour curing procedures
- Operate safely and productively on an active industrial site
What you bring
- 3+ years of commercial or industrial concrete flatwork experience (Journeyman certification or equivalent)
- Proven proficiency with power trowels — both walk-behind and ride-on equipment
- Ability to execute a 14x7 continuous shift schedule
- Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) licence, clean 3-year abstract
- Can clear all industrial site access requirements (Suncor orientation, safety tickets, D&A testing)
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to have: Familiarity with CSA A23.1 flatness and levelness standards · experience on large industrial slabs or oil sands projects · First Aid / OSHA or CSTS 2020 safety tickets.

- Do you have the ability to reliably commute to our shop in St. Albert or are you planning on relocating prior to starting work such that you could reliably commute to our shop in St. Albert?
Experience:
- commercial or industrial structural concrete construction: 1 year (preferred)
- commercial or industrial flatworks concrete construction: 3 years (preferred)
- direct concrete placement & finishing: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- AB Class 5 Non-GDL Driver's License or equivalent (required)
- CSTS 2020 (Free, online, non-expiring ASCA course) (required)
