Job Overview
We are a new and growing electrical contracting company looking for an experienced Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants to play an important role in helping build a company from the ground up.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various industrial and commercial projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, schematics, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and safe operations. The Journeyperson Electrician will work on diverse projects including renovations, new installations, and troubleshooting electrical issues in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs.
- Perform wiring for renovation projects and new construction sites following electrical codes and safety standards.
- Assist with the installation of control panels, circuit breakers, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures.
- Conduct routine maintenance to ensure electrical systems operate reliably and safely.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as plumbers or carpenters during renovation or construction projects.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Documenting work completed throughout the day for billing purposes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Skills
- Proven experience as an electrician or related field with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical equipment safely and effectively.
- Experience with renovation projects as well as new construction installations.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices in industrial settings.
- Handyman experience is a plus for versatile troubleshooting across various systems.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician licence.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of field experience as a licensed electrician (preferred).
- Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Willingness and ability to travel between job sites.
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding work as required.

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
