We are looking for an upbeat, full-time medical administrative assistant to work in a busy and fast-paced surgical center / physician clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of administrative work at the clinic. The successful candidate must be a dedicated and proactive individual who is eager to grow professionally within a supportive and collaborative environment. We place a heavy emphasis on personal and professional growth, as there are plenty of opportunities available at the centre.
Job Status
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours/ week.

Job Duties
- Responds to multiple phone calls, emails, and communications coming into the clinic in an efficient professional manner
- Provides a clear channel of communication and coordination to staff, patients, vendors & referring physicians
- Is warm, caring & provides excellent patient experiences at all times
- Maintains templating and scheduling in an organized fashion to allow for optimal flow in the clinic with multiple EMR templates
- Ensures standard operating procedures in the clinic are adhered to at all times
- Upholds safe, orderly & tidy front desk & waiting room area
- Performs all administrative duties relating to the management and efficiency of the front desk
- Keeps a strong pulse on everything going on in the office
- Advises the physician of deficiencies that may exist & strategizes on continuous improvement plans
- Complete preliminary patient examination including recording history, medications, symptoms/complaints, conducting visual acuity assessments
- Provide support to our Ophthalmologists throughout the surgical procedures. Duties may also include optical measurements and maintaining patient medical records
Experience
Previous experience as an Administrative Assistant, or relevant role, is required. All outstanding individuals with strong skills will be considered.
Education
Grade 12 plus additional college degree in Office Administration Health Services OR Medical Administration OR Executive Administrative Assistant required

As an employee at our center, it is expected to engage in teaching, training and research in addition to all other clerical duties.
