About DreamCast
DreamCast is a Vancouver-based manufacturer of premium concrete fire pits and fireplace mantels, serving customers throughout Canada and the United States.
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Junior Accounts Payable Clerk to support our accounting department. This is a junior position focused on checking supplier invoices and accurately entering bills into the accounting system.
The position works under the direct supervision of our accountant and does not involve processing or approving payments.
Responsibilities
- Review supplier invoices for accuracy and completeness
- Match invoices to purchase orders and signed packing slips
- Confirm pricing, quantities, taxes and supplier information
- Check that invoices have the required supporting documents
- Enter supplier bills accurately into the accounting system
- Identify duplicate invoices, missing documents and discrepancies
- Flag any discrepancies or unusual transactions for the accountant
- Follow up internally regarding missing purchase orders, packing slips or approvals
- Enter supplier credits and adjustments as directed
- Maintain organized electronic and paper accounts payable records
- Assist with filing and other basic accounting administration as required
Qualifications
- Six months to one year of accounts payable, bookkeeping, accounting administration or data-entry experience is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable performing repetitive and detail-oriented work
- Basic understanding of invoices, purchase orders and packing slips
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to follow established procedures
- Comfortable asking questions when documentation is incomplete
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with QuickBooks or Odoo is an asset
- Accounting education is an asset but is not required
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will be reliable, organized and methodical. You should be able to maintain accuracy while processing a consistent volume of invoices and understand when an issue needs to be brought to the accountant’s attention.
This role does not include approving invoices, preparing payments, issuing payments, negotiating with suppliers or completing independent month-end accounting.
Schedule
This position is between two to three full days per week. A consistent weekly schedule is required, with the specific working days to be agreed upon with the successful candidate.
This is an in-office position at our Richmond location.
Compensation
$22 per hour, payroll
