The Supply Chain Engineer II will manage the development of engineering analysis to direct ongoing continuous
improvement and labor management projects to solve supply chain problems in warehousing, transload, cross-dock, and
transportation operations. Provides regular and proactive communications to customers and NFI management. The
successful candidate will possess excellent technical skills combined with demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork
skills.

As part of our engineering career path progression, the SCE II level will demonstrate basic foundational experience in
core technical engineering competency spanning dedicated, warehouse design, Labor modeling/LMS, Continuous -
Improvement and Lean/Six Sigma.

Leads the successful completion of engineering projects and analysis applying engineering methods/ tools

Identifies process gaps and recommends and implements process improvement

Establishes and implements performance KPIs measures and Reasonable Expectations (RE’s)

Deploy LMS platforms, drive data-driven performance reporting, and optimize workforce planning

Leads ongoing proactive continuous improvement for NFI working with operations and the customer

Makes engineering design and supply chain strategy recommendations

Confers with engineering and operations managers to implement efficient and competitive solutions

Bachelor of Science or Business Degree is required. BS Industrial Engineering degree is preferred.

1-3+ years of professional work experience in the following areas: engineering design in supply
chain, transportation management, dedicated fleet operations, distribution center
management, materials handling/automation equipment, & supply chain technology -
Experience with business acumen around financial and project management for the 3PL business

Working knowledge of warehousing operations and transportation operations
-
Lean Six Sigma experience at a project level. Demonstrated experience using Lean tools & principles

Effective Interpersonal and Communications skills
-
Data management and manipulation skills. Programming skills to manipulate large datasets

Database skills, especially through SQL, Power BI and Alteryx
-
Advanced proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace
-
Hands-on experience with Manhattan Labor Management Tool
-
Familiarity with AI platforms with preference for Google Gemini

Travel: up to 25% (based on needs of the business and project schedules)s
Preferred:

Master’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or business administration

Demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities or community

Lean Six Sigma credentials, certifications, or training

Experience with Routing and scheduling packages and transportation optimization software

Experience with Facility layout, MHE, AutoCAD and Warehouse Management System (WMS) tools

IT development: SQL developer, API/EDI development, Dashboard Development
Other:
Demonstrated technical proficiency and skill set working with engineering methodologies and tools to solve complex
supply chain problems. Effective communication skills are required. Preferred to be based in one of NFI’s regional offices:
