Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/woman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. This role involves performing maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on a wide range of heavy duty tucks and trailers. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with various tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with dealership service, heavy equipment operation, and electrical systems is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery including excavators, trucks, trailers, HVAC systems, and automotive repair.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck and trailers
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Conduct welding, assembly, and disassembly of components using power tools and hand tools
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed
- Assist in the installation of new machinery or upgrades to existing systems
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
Skills
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or similar role with dealership background preferred
- Extensive knowledge of automotive repair, heavy equipment operation, and industrial machinery
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams
- Skilled in welding, using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate cranes or other lifting devices
- Strong mechanical knowledge covering HVAC systems, farm machinery, and automotive systems
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting and repairs on industrial equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good customer service skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
