Established in 2013, Ascension Automation Solutions are the experts in the field of industrial robotics with a specialty in robotic manufacturing applications, providing everything from system design to machine commissioning. Panel Builder
A successful candidate will be able to support the installation of machinery as required, including assembly, set-up, and machine operation to verify functioning, machine capability and conformance to customer’s specifications. In addition, assisting with assembly and programming of machines in the shop.
Job Duties
Responsibilities:
- Laying out panel back plates
- Drilling and cutting holes for electrical devices
- Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures
- Assemble electrical components into control panel
- Cut, strip, bend and mount wires to connect electrical units within a panel/control box
- Point to point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, interfaces and instrumentation
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- High standard of quality and attention to detail
- Perform all other duties assigned or as needed in a safe and productive manner
Qualifications:
- Communicate issues or quality with co-workers and supervisor
- Previous experience with control panel building/wiring is essential
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
- knowledge with components such as relays, PLC’s, contactors, power supply’s, etc.
- Demonstrable ability to use variety of hand/power tools and test equipment related to panel builder duties
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Diploma in relevant vocational training
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Familiar with basic hand and power tools
- Dependable and detail oriented
- Knowledge of reading electrical schematics and drawings is an asset
Work Conditions
- Overtime as required.
- Weekend work may be required.
