TREA is a non-profit charity with a goal to educate members and community to protect the environment, stay informed and take personal action. TREA has established numerous programs and partnerships on waste and fossil fuel reduction, active transportation, and relocalization over time. TREA encourages citizen participation and innovative projects.
8 wks, starts July, 35/hrs/wk, $17.60/hr CSJ grant
Responsibilities
Attending virtual and person-to-person meetings
Communicating via email and in person
Research tasks to create promotional materials
Social media content creation, website updates
Attending community events, discussing environmental topics
Training volunteers, in some cases participating with waste mgt practices
Some flexible hours required
Criteria Candidate
Must be between the ages of 15 to 30 at the start of employment. Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.
Required Abilities and Skills
Position offers a wide range of skills and networking opportunities –
- Ability to plan, organize, manage time and competing priorities, implement
- Helpful if participant has some experience in working with volunteers
- Ability to creatively solve problems, communicate well both in writing and verbally
- Experience with leadership situations, a collaborative work style, self-motivated
- Good computer and social media skills an asset.
