Location: This position is located in Estevan, SK and will serve our Saskatchewan & Manitoba markets

Are you a relationship‑driven sales professional who enjoys solving customer problems, and builds trust through technical credibility and follow‑through? Primec is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow and strengthen our presence across Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
This role will place an increased emphasis on new customer acquisition, with approximately 50% of the position focused on developing new business opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding Primec’s market presence by building strong relationships with prospective customers across the territory, supported by in-person visits throughout Saskatchewan & Manitoba.
This position is central to maintaining and expanding Primec’s market share through strong customer relationships, thoughtful solution selling, and proactive identification of opportunities that improve customer safety, reliability, and economics. The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced business development or technical sales leader with deep knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and oil & gas operations.

What You'll Do
· Grow and maintain Primec’s market share by expanding existing accounts and developing new customer relationships.
· Proactively identify, pursue and onboard new customers, contributing to overall revenue growth.
· Build high‑trust, value‑adding relationships through regular in‑person meetings with clear purpose and follow‑through. Travel will be required within the Saskatchewan and Manitoba region.
· Identify new products, technologies, or approaches from customer inquiries and share insights with technical and inside sales teams for evaluation and stocking decisions.
· Maintain a working knowledge of Primec’s distributed product lines, including when to involve internal product champions, colleagues, or suppliers for deeper technical support.
· Collaborate closely with inside sales, technical teams, and operations to align customer needs.
· Represent Primec professionally at trade shows, sales meetings, and promotional events to strengthen relationships and uncover new opportunities.
· Support development of promotional materials, marketing and social media initiatives -gain feedback and provide input on messaging effectiveness.
· Maintain proper sales system documentation including market share analysis, meeting preparation & follow-up, CRM data, and customer satisfaction feedback.
· Demonstrate and promote Primec’s cultural practices while contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment
What You Bring
· Technical background or experience in instrumentation, electrical, measurement, or combustion is an asset.
· Proven ability to connect and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including field personnel, engineers, procurement teams, and leadership.
· Having excellent communication skills you bring strong situational awareness and adaptability to build trust and move conversations toward clear next steps.
· Solid knowledge of the oil and gas industry, particularly production, facilities, measurement, and maintenance environments.
· Minimum 5 years of experience providing services or solutions to oil and gas companies (operations, service, or technical sales).
· High initiative, curiosity, and comfort stepping outside your comfort zone to learn new products and engage new contacts.
