Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and equipment, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the condition of vehicles and cargo. This role offers an opportunity to work with heavy equipment and develop a diverse skill set in logistics and vehicle operation. Candidates with experience in commercial driving, forklift operation, or automotive repair are highly encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight and equipment to various locations
- Load and unload cargo using pump carts or power carts and other equipment as needed
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on vehicles to ensure safety and compliance
- Be agile and able to climb up into the back of the truck or trailer from the ground.
- Able to lift 50 - 65 lbs. when required.
- Assist with freight handling, securing loads, and verifying delivery documentation
- Maintain accurate records of trips, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance logs
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and issue
- Fill out paperwork as required and BOL's for customer transactions and invoicing
Experience
- MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS CURRENT, HEAVY TRUCK DRIVING EXPERIENCE IN CANADA A MUST
- Proven experience in commercial driving or transportation roles
- Familiarity with forklift operation and freight handling procedures (an asset)
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is a requirement
- Basic automotive repair skills are desirable for maintaining vehicle functionality
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and abstract a must
- Prior experience working with heavy equipment or in logistics is preferred
