Responsibilities:
- Support Product Design: Collaborate with the team to design wireframes, user flows, journey maps, and high-fidelity mockups for new features and optimizations within the ATS Spec Tool and ATS AutoQuote. Support ongoing UX improvements by identifying usability issues and proposing enhancements to existing workflows.
- Maintain the Design System: Contribute to and help maintain our centralized component library and design system to ensure visual consistency and scalable implementation across all platforms.
- Design Documentation: Create and maintain clear design documentation, including user flows, interaction behaviors, component usage guidelines, annotations, and design rationale, to support cross-functional collaboration and ensure consistency throughout the product development process.
- User Research & Testing: Assist in gathering user feedback, conducting unmoderated usability testing, and analyzing user behavior data to identify friction points.
- Data Visualization: Translate dense technical product specs, code compliance metrics, and complex quoting pipelines into clean, actionable data dashboards and workflows.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with Front-End Developers and Product Owners to ensure design specifications are accurately understood and implemented.
- Iterative Prototyping: Build interactive prototypes (primarily in Figma) to demonstrate complex micro-interactions and user flows for stakeholder review.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience/comprehensive bootcamp portfolio).
- Portfolio Required: A strong portfolio demonstrating your design process, clear problem-solving skills, typography, layouts, and interactive prototypes (B2B or complex data-handling projects are a major plus!).
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Figma (including Auto Layout, components, variables, and FigJam) with familiarity using Figma Make for AI-assisted design workflows. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Jira/Confluence is an asset.
- Accessibility Principles (WCAG): Basic knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and best practices for designing inclusive digital experiences.
- Analytical Mindset: An interest in understanding complex technical concepts, user personas (like plumbing engineers or construction estimators), and multi-step business-to-business processes.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate and defend your design decisions while remaining open to constructive feedback.
- Basic Tech Literacy: A baseline understanding of HTML, CSS, and component-driven web frameworks is highly advantageous (you won’t be coding, but you will be talking to developers).
