Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic team. The Service Advisor acts as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring a seamless experience from vehicle check-in to completion of repairs. This role requires excellent communication skills, mechanical understanding, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Prior dealership or mechanic experience is highly valued, and the ideal candidate will be adept at upselling services to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns
- Explain repair recommendations clearly and accurately, utilizing mechanical knowledge
- Prepare detailed service estimates and communicate them effectively to customers
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize and schedule repairs
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on customer needs and vehicle condition
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation
- Follow up with customers regarding vehicle status and ensure satisfaction upon completion
- Maintain organized records of service orders, parts, and customer interactions
- Promote additional products or services that benefit the customer's vehicle health
Qualifications
- Previous dealership experience or mechanic background preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and trust
- Sales experience, including upselling techniques, is a plus
- Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly and accurately
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency for managing service records and estimates
