About the Client:
We are seeking a compassionate caregiver for a woman living independently in her home near the golf course in Orangeville (Rockburn area). She is experiencing memory changes and needs support to remain safe and comfortable at home. Her appetite has improved significantly with consistent support, and she is now eating well and expressing when she's hungry. She takes medication for high blood pressure that requires daily monitoring. While she can walk independently, she shuffles and needs supervision for safety, especially when moving around her home and outdoor porch area. She is a strong-willed individual who is adjusting to receiving care for the first time. The family's goal is to keep her at home as long as safely possible.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive at 11:00 AM to check on her morning routine and ensure medications have been taken
- Prepare and serve lunch, ensuring she eats well throughout the day
- Provide supervision during mobility, especially when walking outdoors or on her porch
- Encourage and assist with outdoor time around 3-4 PM for fresh air and light activity
- Prepare and serve dinner
- Monitor and record blood pressure daily
- Provide memory prompts and gentle redirection as needed
- Light tidying and household tasks
- Assist with bathing and dressing if needed, particularly on difficult days
- Provide supervision during evening routine and dressing for bed
- Use good judgment to provide additional assistance when she appears tired or unsteady

- Experience with memory care and cognitive support
- Patient, calm demeanor with a positive attitude
- Ability to make clients feel comfortable and respected
- Strong initiative and judgment in recognizing when additional support is needed
- Excellent communication with family members
- Reliable and consistent
- English speaking
- Comfortable with light meal preparation and feeding support
- Understanding of fall prevention and safety awareness
- Experience with medication reminders and vital sign monitoring
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (approximately 7 hours per day). This schedule will evolve based on her needs and may expand to include longer hours, weekends, and eventually overnight care as her care needs progress. Flexibility to grow with the role is essential. Start date targeted for early August with virtual interviews scheduled for late July.
