The Administrative Officerprovideshigh leveladministrative and operational support to the Senior Management Team (SMT) and the Board of Directors. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role acts as a key connector across departments and stakeholder groups, supporting executive operations, Board governance, and organization wide coordination.
This role is well suited to an experienced Administrative Officer who wants to work in a growing organization, with a renowned brand, that’s part of a worldwide movement to improve patient and family centered care for families travelling to receive pediatric medical treatment.
In addition, this role serves as Co-Chair of the Ronald McDonald House Alberta Culture Committee, supporting membership and acting as the primary liaison with theSMT.Leveraging direct access to senior leadership, the role helps keep SMT informed of culture initiatives, supports planning andlogisticsfor all-staff engagements, and helps address priorities for organizational culture.
This is a hybrid role supporting the Alberta team and requires travel to Ronald McDonald Houses across the province. Regular work from a local Ronald McDonald House is required. The role works 32 hours per week (0.8 Full Time Equivalent), with flexibility in how those hours are scheduled (for example, four full days per week, shorter days across five days, or other agreed-upon arrangements), based on operational needs and individual circumstances. The successful candidate for this role must live in or around Calgary, Edmonton or Red Deer.
Your work enables the Senior Management Team and Board of Directors to operate effectively, make informed decisions, and steward the organization with care and accountability. By supporting strong governance, seamless coordination, and a positive organizational culture, this role helps ensure that Ronald McDonald House Alberta can continue to provide comfort, dignity, and a true home away from home for families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Your Key Responsibilities
Executive, SMT, and Board Support
Support the CEO’s day-to-day activities, including travel and logistics for CEO, certain SMT, and Board members.
Coordinate and manage select Board and Committee meetings, including logistics, materials, minutes, etc.
Lead and support with various projects, including coordination of special events, retreats, and all-staff meetings.
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, conduct research, prepare reports, and sometimes act on behalf of SMT.
Administrative Responsibilities
Culture Committee, Co-Chair Responsibilities
Co-lead the Culture Committee, contributing to governance, membership management, and alignment with organizational values.
Excellent computer skills.Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially SharePoint, PowerPoint,Wordand Excel.
