About Valleyview Residence
Valleyview Residence is a not-for-profit long-term care home in North York dedicated to providing compassionate, resident-centered care in a warm and welcoming environment. We are seeking an experienced and caring Hairdresser to provide salon services to our residents as an Independent Contractor.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-employed hairdresser looking to build a regular client base while making a difference in the lives of seniors.
The Opportunity
Valleyview Residence is seeking an Independent Contractor Hairdresser to operate our onsite salon and provide hair care services to residents.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing appointments, providing professional salon services, maintaining supplies and equipment.
This is a position ideal for a motivated individual who enjoys working with older adults.
Responsibilities
· Provide haircuts, styling, shampoos, colouring, beard trims and other salon services to residents
· Schedule and manage resident appointments
· Maintain clean, organized, and professional salon environment
· Follow all infection prevention and control practices and workplace safety requirements
· Maintain salon equipment and report to management any repair needs
· Communicate respectfully and professionally with residents, families and staff
· Accommodate residents with physical, cognitive or mobility limitations
· Maintain appropriate records and required documentation
Qualifications
· Licensed Hairstylist in Ontario
· Minimum 1 year of hairstyling experience
· Experience working with seniors is considered an asset
· Strong customer service and interprofessional skills
· Proof of professional liability insurance
· Current Vulnerable Sector Check
· Tuberculosis screening and proof of immunization as required for long-term care
· Ability to work independently
Contract Arrangement
This is an Independent Contractor opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining their own professional licensing, insurance and business requirements.
Schedule and service days will be arranged in collaboration with Valleyview Residence based on resident demand.
Pay: $50.00-$120.00 per hour
