Required Qualifications:

Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Ottawa, Canada or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in Canada.

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.

At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.

Required Skills
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering with 15+ years of experience in the telecom/optical industry.
- Thorough understanding of optical standards related to DWDM and line systems.
- Strong experience in optical technologies and optical line systems, including DWDM, ROADM, amplifiers, Raman, OTDR, DGE, etc.
- Prior experience in the architecture and design of optical/telecom embedded systems.
- Excellent hands-on experience with operating systems, object-oriented design, and C++.
- Ability to define detailed software requirements and system/software architecture, working closely with software architects and designers, based on high-level product requirements for next-generation Optical Line System.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Highly desirable to have the ability or prior experience as a Product Owner (PO) in Scrum teams.
- Highly desirable to have a strong understanding of Agile Scrum and AI.
The job may also entail sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Candidates should be able to effectively communicate by telephone, email, and face to face
Estimated annual compensation range for the candidate based in the below location will be:
Ontario- $92740 to $ 123375
